"Mississippi Bridge" - Is another masterpiece book by Mildred Taylor. I received the coveted "Chistopher Award" for my ten pencil illustrations on the inside pages of this book. This cover painting was done for the Bantam paperback edition.  Once again, we see Taylor's same aunt and uncles, plus an older uncle.  Included also, is their white friend, who suffered the wrath of his white family for having the friendship of these Black children.  I painted a different image for the earlier hard cover published by Dial Books, which is not here on display.
